Melissa Griffith

Melissa Griffith, RN, MSN, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with over 15 years of experience in the specialties of allergy, asthma, immunology, and rheumatology. She currently serves patients at Allergy A.R.T.S. in Amarillo, Texas.

Melissa has nearly 30 years of experience as a registered nurse. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now University of Louisiana-Lafayette) in 1993. 

After working for over a year in Louisiana, she moved to Texas with her husband and worked at Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple. While at Scott and White Hospital, her career advanced to assistant nurse manager. She served as a mentor and preceptor to new staff and assisted in developing the clinical pathway for the sickle cell crisis.

She also became a certified clinical research coordinator. Melissa was one of the primary coordinators for a large NIH-funded study on herd immunity using intranasal flu vaccine for children 18 months to 18 years of age. 

Prior to leaving Scott and White Hospital, she obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Since then, she has been employed at Allergy A.R.T.S. as a family nurse practitioner. At the practice, Melissa manages patients of all ages with complex allergies or autoimmune conditions such as allergic rhinitis, severe asthma, COPD, common variable immune deficiency, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and systemic lupus erythematosus. 

Melissa is honored by her part in improving the health and well-being of her patients and looks forward to continuing to provide comprehensive treatment plans for her current and future patients.
